March 2010: Ascent Software visit European Postal Conference with SWIFT Postal
Ascent Software, part of the Infomate Group, took part in the European Postal Conference entitled "Transforming and modernising posts: insights from Europe's industry leaders" held in Brussels from the 22nd to the 24th March. With a stand at the conference, Ascent Software showcased their suite of postal software products, branded as SWIFT Postal.
The event was a sure success with various insights into the future of the postal industry brought forward. Industry leaders elaborated upon new methods and schools of thought to improve upon current operations. Although concern with the changing postal environment had been expressed, there was also an instilled strong sense of confidence. Advisors proclaimed that postal operators need to modernise their operations with modern technologies, and use such technologies to explore new markets and new channels. Traditional postal services are now complemented with non postal revenue streams, capitalising upon the already existing postal network. "We are convinced of SWIFT Postal's potential. By adapting the Retail vertical to the postal industry, SWIFT Postal allows operators to modernise their approach to business, with the use of concepts such as know your customer" says Joseph Sultana, CEO of SWIFT Postal. "Postal operators realise that the decline in traditional mail is upon us. SWIFT Postal is therefore at the right time with its current offering.
